Many of us have experience with employers who require signed “sick notes” from doctors. The thinking is that these signed notes ensure that employees don’t take advantage of sick day policies.
But one doctor, Ethel Cooper-Rosen, is fed up with this practice. In fact, she wants to start charging employers $30 for sick notes.
The perfect response that Ethel writes to employers who require a sick note can be read below. She absolutely NAILS it!
So it seems these employers have a choice: Either trust your employees and stop being paranoid about “fake sick days”, or fork over money to help pay for the disturbance you’re causing to the health-care system.
