Video Game Review: Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask 3DS

I will fully admit that this is my 5th Professor Layton game and I am planning on buying more. But of all 5 this one was the most disappointing. Even though it did deliver on both puzzles and Mini Games, a lot of it seemed forced, and that heavily reminded me of a lot of RPGs Ruins of Akbadain section was actually tedious. Even though I did use a walkthrough for most of this section. I could not do this in one day, in fact, it took me a week to complete. Not that it was overly hard, it’s just even with a walk through many of those puzzles were mentally exhausting. Even the overall mystery was disappointing to me. In fact, I was able to figure over who was the Masked Gentleman (The Villian of this game) quite early on in the game.

So what can I say Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask 3DS does deliver on puzzles, the Daily Download puzzles all 365 of them are currently available for FREE download. The end is pretty good, but overall the puzzles are better than the entire game.

Actually below average for a Professor Layton game.

Overall Score 6/ 10
