Very quickly I have become a HUGE of Zerocalcare’s work. First it was Tear Along The Dotted Line and most recent it was This World Can’t Tear Me Down. Both 6 part series are absolutely brilliant, and for the record dubbed into English. In this series we have refugees held at an old school, neighbors in an uproar, apoplectic police and Nazis.
The series starts out what would you do if you found out a childhood friend was now a nazi, a recovering addict and lives with his mother. Not easy is it, I will fully admit there is times I needed a break even though the episodes are only 24 minutes long.
This series tends to stay away from the old sitcom trops, and deal with things in a very realistic way.
Speaking of which the anthro animals and the talking teapot. Zerocalcare tends to put certain types of people in to categories not types, take his own inner self that is a giant armadillo and so on.
The discoveries, finding out of truths to the actual incident where Zerocalcare’s friend turns out be the hero when things got bad.
How would you react?
Not easy is it
