So, you wanna make a RP character, but you don’t know where to start? Try here!

Note: I will edit/update this guide as often as I see fit.

First off, if you are new to Role Playing, you should read this guide. It’s full of all the information you could ever want for learning about RPing.

Key:
Green = My input.
Blue = My thoughts, tips to help you.

So, let the guide begin! I am going to make a character so you can see what it looks like, and help you learn the steps a little faster.

1. Form a mental image of your character and make a general outline.
(Doing this now may seem boring but it will help you to get an idea of your character as a whole before you start to write things down, which will speed everything else down when you are ready to do so.)

I want to make a character that represents myself. I want him to be friendly, smart, but mostly unexperienced in the world. He just finished high school and has been trying to decide what kind of career he wants in life. He is stubborn and doesn’t know when to shut his mouth, which gets him into trouble more often than not.

2. Fill out basic information on the character creation page. Click Here
(Be detailed! The more detailed you get, the easier players will be able to identify you, the easier they will be able to remember you, and the easier people will get to know you.)

(Most of this section is pretty self explanatory, just fill in the blanks.)

Name: Phayte

Birthday: 23/05/1990

Nationality: American

Species: Lynx

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Long

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 115lbs.

Fur Texture: Soft

Fur Pattern: Striped

Fur Color(s): Snow white, black stripes

Sex: Male

Gender (Identity): Male
(Many users have speculated as to why there is both a sex and a gender option. For sanities sake, let’s just say that sex is your physical gender, while gender is your gender identity, how you view yourself.)

Orientation: Straight
(You don’t have to limit yourself to the available options, there are plenty of other orientations out there, and no one is stopping you from picking the one you want!)

3. Fill out the rest.
(This is where thinking about your character before you write anything down helps a lot!)

History: (This is your characters background. Where you grew up, what kind of family you had, siblings, any sort of past troubles or triumphs, education, career, job experience, friends from long ago, etc.)
Phayte grew up in your average American home, with two brothers, one older, and one younger. His parents divorced when he was five and both of them remarried other spouses. He has two step sisters (twins) and a step brother, on his step mom’s side, all three older than himself.

Interests: (These are things your character likes or is interested in, this can include hobbies, activities, people, or even character or body features that you like.)
Video games: Final Fantasy, Fallout, Kingdom Hearts – Anime: Ghost in the Shell, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist – Television: Family Guy, Robot Chicken – Hanging out with friends, and just having fun.

Dislikes: (Put your pet peeves here, anything that ticks, turns, or puts you off; Overly mean/nice people, overly odoriferous objects, foods, people, etc.
Bullies, people that won’t leave him alone, stinky breath, obnoxious people, boring people, people that try and ruin his fun.

About: (This is the first spot most people read to find out about your character, tell people about yourself, where you live, what your ambitions or goals in life are, or the fact that you just got over a relationship and you need time to heal, etc.)
Phayte is an 18 year old, male, Lynx who lives in the Pacific North West of the United States. He’s a fun guy who likes to play video games and watch anime, but loves hanging out with friends and talking more than anything. He is currently looking to get into a relationship, preferably with female feline.

Relationships: Write down your friends, loved ones, and enemies here. This will let other users know who you know, and help yourself to remember too.
None at the moment.
