If this did not happen to me, I swear I would not believe this. All of this began earlier this week when I received a PM from nancy44 on the Furnation board. She said she fell in love with my profile and wanted to get to know me better, and would I send her an email.

Look my profile on all the boards I belong to at basic at best, and the one at Furnation is no exception. Call me curious and figuring I could get a post out of this, I went along with the gag.

What I got back was a nice fully clothed images of this lovely young (possibly early 20s) African woman, she claimed she lived in Senegal, and when she mentioned that she was living in a refugee camp in the Ivory Coast a red flag went off in the back of my mind. Meaning what she was saying did not gel up with the facts. I am a bit of a news hound, and knew the truth.

So I sent her an email claiming be on hard times…which is more or less the truth. You would not believe what I got back.

Via a now different email address I got one of those Nigerian scams/spam emails. You know the ones, we all received them. That was as of yesterday. I already set my spam filter. But according to others at Furnation I got hit by a spam bot. If they wanted to send me spam this was a strange way to go about it.

I posted this as a warning to all of you

Mine you I do not take child porn lightly, and if I knew of anyone dealing in it I would turn them over to the police faster than anything. But what happened to this couple in Arizona is beyond what even I could believe. All they did was take a few photos of their young girls playing around after taking a bath. Like most families do, they then took the photos to Walmart and days later not only did they loose custody of their kids for a month. But now they have to register as sex offenders.

Mine you I have to keep very neutral here but, I (even though I have no kids) know a few couples with young kids and some of them have sent me images I am rather not speak about. It is all completely innocent, no sex acts, no things kids should be doing, nothing weird period. In fact according to one report 95% of all families take similar photos. Then to this to happen to them is really crossing the line. Like it would be if I said there names.

They have already hired a lawyer…But do I blame Walmart for over reacting, that is hard to say. If a real bit of child porn was happening they did right, but in this case I think everyone over reacted.

An interesting problem arouse recently involving channel 7 since the DTV conversion. It seems if your using an indoor antenna many have reported that they are unable to pick up that channel or even any of the sub channels. Of course this depends on your area, but it has been reported in most of the major cities in the US. These stations have reported that the FCC is working on a solution.
