I recently called Acornonline.com store recently to place an order and I was surprised to find out there #1 selling item was the Red Green Show. Which Acorn markets on DVD, this folksy, and surprisingly fun show originally produced for Canadian TV. Seems to have an ever growing fan base, which should not be a surprise to fans of Mythbusters. Which did 2 entire episodes on Duct Tape, a main feature in the Red Green series.
Comcast announced recently that in a effort to regain back the lost 250,000 subscribers. That some of their cable boxes will allow subscribers to connect to the Internet. No it will not allow subscribers to take advantage of the many online Movie sites such as Netflix, which I admit would be a bonus. Considering what cable companies charge for Pay per view movies. Nor will it allow subscribers to view You Tube videos. Just visit social network sites so subscribers can post their opinion’s on the latest TV series. I for one think this is going to be a big nothing.
A history lesson for those of you who happened to have been snowed in by the recent blizzard you might of had. When this happened in Chicago back in the Winter of 1979/80. The then mayor said just after the storm, “It was just one of those things”. Later when they came up for Re-election they lost in the biggest landslide election in Chicago political history, think about this when your Mayor comes up for re-election.
One last thing, with the airlines making record profits. According to ABC News nearly all the airlines have been cutting back on customer service personal. So in a crisis which we had when those massive storms hit the east. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of any one.
