Anticipation Isn’t Easy
Well here it is with a little over 24 hours to go before my very 1st fur con ever. I know I could rant about the lack of any solid information out there about these cons…but I won’t. Simply because it would help, I admit I am a bit nervous, and a bit concerned over how expensive things are going to be. Like most of you I haven’t a lot of cash to throw around, and I admit it. The main reason I am going is because I am curious what are these fur cons really like. How many of the goers actually wear fursuits? Are all the rumors true? Hell if I know, all I know I’ll be there on Saturday with my camera handy. I am still unsure if I should even mention my blog…as funny as that sounds. Which btw for the first time in over 6 months I had over 1,000 hits on Tuesday…thanks.
Oh there are lots of things I can’t help but think about, but despite my own fears…and yes I will admit to it. I am a bit scared…why I haven’t a clue. Expect maybe it’s going to a place I never been before, experiencing something up to now I only ever did online. I guess it’s all the same for newbies like me.
Except for the fact I lost my brother this year. Which in case any of you are wondering I am feeling better. That is thanks to friends, and with help of a great organization Gilda’s Club. If you have someone in your family with cancer I suggest contact them directly…they are there to help.
But as the one who runs my support group says “You must now live a new normal”. As strange as it sounds when you do loose a loved one, and life goes on as it must without them. Your life enters a new normal, and going to cons, meeting other furs is now apart of that new normal.
Next week I will be reporting on what I see, and experience. I hope to bust some myths, as well as make new friends. *fingers crossed*

I will be at Midwest Furfest next Saturday, then beginning Monday a honest review of my thoughts and feelings of my experiences. I hope to meet some of my readers there.
