Let me start off by saying the local furmeet I joined a few months back, is going ahead to make it’s own furry comic. It’s still all quite early what form this will take and will this turn in to a web comic it’s really hard to say. But man there is a lot to think about when you planning something like this. As of next week we all have to get our profiles and backstories in for those who want to be a part of this. Those who can draw are doing our fursonas for the comic. All the while 2 of our members are doing the writing. Although I do write I don’t know how much of and input I will have over my own character in the comic. But no matter what happens it’s turning in to quite an experience, one I would not want to miss.

So What Makes Fur Cons Different
Recently I spoke with a staff member of a fur con, due to the fact I am respecting their privacy. I can not mention who they are or what fur con their affiliated with.
They openly spoke about what makes Fur Cons so different than any other con you can think of. In one word, ‘Fursuiters’, we all love and respect fursuiters…at least I hope we all do. Because they go through a lot to make the fursuit of their dreams. I know in one case someone spent $5,000 on their fursuit and now they are scared to wear it, because it might get damaged. But in reality fursuiters go through a lot, they can and do get over heated. In fact a member of my furmeet was suppose to be in the Fursuit Parade at Anthrocon, but literally passed out before the parade began. All because they got overheated, and that is why these ‘Headless Lounges’ are so important, it is where they get water, can cool off and have time to have there fursuit dry out, mainly due to all the sweat. It’s a fact, we get hot we sweat like it or not.
This is why I hope you fursuiters think about cooling vests, and I know as I checked you can spend as much as $600 for one. But thank to the members of my fursuit I found out where you can pick up one for under $50. I found one for $43 before I began typing this article. Just go to any search engine and type in “du pont cooling vests”. You will be surprised what you will find.
Happy Fursuiting!!!
