In all the years I been running Yiffy Times I have gotten over 20,000 spam comments vs. under 40 legit ones. Thankfully most of those 20,000 are blocked by the spam filtering software wordpress uses. Also me setting a limit on how old can a post be before all comments are blocked has greatly helped reduce my number. But the ones I get are so generic. Like ones saying I wrote a thoughtful piece and all I did was post an image.

There should be a new saying spambots ruin everything. For example I use to go to this adult forum (I rather not say where), it really was a good forum, you could talk about literally anything there. But not any more, it seems even though the site is still up, and you can still both register and login. The site has been completely been taken over by spambots. The best I could figure out the Mods pulled out a few years back, and that was when the spambots took over. The last time I was there, there wasn’t a single legit post. But even though the active members have fallen the zero the spambots still keep on posting.
