Panel requests for MFM 2025 are OPEN!!! Due to space constraints we will be looking at panels a little differently this year. We really won’t have space for panels at are similar to each other. So make it unique and great! From the Board of Directors for Mephit Furmeet

Hello everyone,

We would like to take this opportunity to address any rumors that may be circling about an incident at Mephit Fur Meet this past weekend.

On Sunday, at approximately 12PM, our host hotel, Whispering Woods, received several calls from an upset individual who was offended that the hotel was hosting us.  The caller made several threats towards the attendees and the property, and the hotel notified the board of directors of the incident.  The local police were notified and sent investigators and officers to investigate the incident.  The police department has the messages and statements of the hotel staff and worked with us in various positions to verify the safety of our attendees.  The police are continuing to investigate and have increased the police presence to make sure there would be plenty of staff in the event the individual attempted to cause physical concerns.  The Board of Directors and the Operations staff were on heightened alert from the moment we were alerted to the incident. Our staff were monitoring, and we were prepared to implement our plans to protect our extended family here at Mephit Fur Meet.   

We take the safety and security of our attendees very seriously, and while we were very concerned, we were also instantly cautious to keep this within our staff members and not cause panic among our attendees.  As this is an ongoing investigation, we are limited on the information we are releasing but we would like to let everyone know that we took this threat seriously and our operations teams worked closely with police to maintain everyone’s safety and a friendly environment. 

We all thank you for your support and concern and we hope that this type of incident can have a peaceful resolution and that we will see everyone again next year when we start the weekend with our favorite saying, Welcome Home.

I am happy Mephit Fur Meet posted these photos, because I think a lot of forget how much work actually goes in to running a fur con. We go there and enjoy ourselves, not thinking really. Next time your at one PLEASE tell them “Thanks for all the hard work”. A pat on the back really feels so very nice.
