Yes it’s true Motor City Fur Con has MOVED from Ypsilanti, MI. to Detroit the full 35 miles

Yep! MCFC is moving to the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in the downtown of Detroit.

We’ll have a lot of space available to grow into. Not to mention there’s a bit more parking available.

This move also brings some challenges, which we’ll detail in due time, but all of those things we can work through together! The first of which…

A new place, but also, a new time

Motor City Furry Con 2026 is shifting to a slightly different timeframe: February 13 – 15, 2026.

Yep, you can make MCFC your romantic get-away this year! Specifically those dates are…

• Friday, Feb 13 – Triskaideka fans rejoice. For everyone else: don’t worry, it’ll be fine.
• Saturday, Feb 14 – Everyone is spending a lot of time in their rooms for some reason. Probably playing video games. I don’t judge.
• Sunday, Feb 15 – If neither of those are your thing, it may be a good day to look across the river to spot a maple leaf as it’s Flag of Canada Day.

And since I know you’re going to ask, we unfortunately don’t yet know what the dates will look like for 2027 and beyond.

To some degree that depends on how 2026 goes. All we can do is work on making this convention a success and try to get into an even better position next time!

That February date kinda threw me off, but being in such a recognizable building in Detroit should make things a whole lot easier. I also expect an increase in attendance.

Motor City Fur Con 2025 may be over, but what a time it was!
