Vintage Computer Festival Midwest 2025

I know I don’t usually talk about the extra stuff I do. But really there was a whole lot of furries down there. A few Protogens, plain clothes furries like me, and those like my friend wearing his favorite con tee.

Held for just 2 days at the Schaumburg Convention Center in September Is a geek hang out like no other. I swear you can find from early video tape recording equipment to obscure gaming consoles, not to forget the lots of old PC and Mac hardware as well as software that can be found.

Round 2 of it is today the FREE Pile was amazing. It is a chance to get rid of old computer stuff you don’t need as well as pick up new junk. I got rid of a couple of old install discs and a pair of speakers.

But it is amazing

All I can it was fun, I saw tons of stuff and best of all it was FREE. The con makes money buy selling Dealer’s Space and their own merch. I forgot to mention this is also the largest location in this con’s history. Nearly doubling their old location square footage.

If your in the area I say go, if not just look up, Vintage Computer Festival there are plenty of regional gatherings. You will be amazed.

Release the Geeks

In all fun I was there at the Waterford Banquet & Conference Center, Elmhurst, IL which hosted Vintage Computer Festival Midwest

And so was furries…

and yes those are old camcorders

Seriously if you were into anything from old video cameras to what most consider obsolete computers you were in heaven.

Me I was there looking for cheap games for my Atari 800 XL. That’s a 8 bit computer which I more look like as the best way to get some games and the quality is higher than most retro consoles.

Literally you could find anything

Mind you there were twice as many people there as last year.

Literally you could find anything there even FREE stuff

Way more Commodore 64 than Atari Computer stuff. But one dealer promised more Atari Computer stuff next year.

Speaking of which there were dealers in the Parking Lot, as well as the entrance.

Will I go again? Hell yes, I am a GEEK
