It seems despite EVERYTHING RainFurrest 2016 will take place. It seems according to their official site they have a verbal agreement already in place and are in current talks with their future hotel…in Spokane, Wa.
I am not surprised they had to get out of the Seattle area. A friend actually predicted the location, to the tourist starved area of Spokane. Not that there anything wrong with that city, it’s at the other end of the state and lets just leave it at that.
The posts the 2016 Chair made read like we totally screwed up, how do we get ourselves out of this utter disaster and I recommend checking them out.

In many ways, we did too. Since RF2015, we talked with over a dozen hotels, all across the Puget Sound region, and every single one of them turned us down. The reasons varied from venue to venue, but they all boiled down to one of four basic responses:
“We saw the Letter to the Attendees and don’t want to do business with you.”
“We can’t really help you (e.g. too small, wrong kind of venue).”
“We’d love to have you but you can’t afford $100,000 to do business with us.”
“We’re already sold out for 2016.”
Frankly I can’t blame anyone for turning them down, and I would still take a gamble on whether this is actually going to happen.
As announced by the Chair, it is roughly planned for Dec we will just have to see if it actually takes place.
They did announce a big update on Jan 30 after a staff meeting. I too will be rather curious to see what that news is exactly.
