Wild Times (Germany) Will Require Proof of Vaccination
Wild Times 2021 Will Be For Vaccinated-Only
Out of need to comply with possible future government regulations and concern for the safety of our staff and attendees, we will require a full Covid vaccination to attend Wild Times 2021.
@Rakurim will message all attendees of Wild Times during the upcoming week and ask if they are going to be fully vaccinated by the start of Wild Times or not.
If you are not fully vaccinated by the start of Wild Times, please let us know, when we message you, so we can cancel and refund your slot.
In summary:
1.) @Rakurim will message you and ask you if you are fully vaccinated for Wild Times
2.) If you are fully vaccinated, you can attend. If not: We will cancel and refund your slot.
3.) Important: If you fail to provide proof of vaccination at the start of Wild Times (and don’t notify staff to cancel your slot), your slot will not be refunded
In order to count as fully vaccinated in time for Wild Times your 2nd vaccine (or for johnson & johnson only vaccine) must be received by 23.08.2021 latest.
While we wish everyone could attend Wild Times, we feel this is the best way forward for everyone’s safety and to comply with any possible government regulations

History of MFF: Midwest FurFest 2015

Midwest FurFest 2015 was a convention that was held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois from December 4th to December 6th, 2015. Total attendance was 5,606, which included 1,378 participants in there very last fursuit parade… of course none of us knew this until the following year.
The Guests of Honor were:
The convention’s charity was Save-A-Vet. Save-A-Vet is a military and law-enforcement working dog rescue and support organization. Through special agreements with military and law enforcement agencies, they take responsibility for dogs which, due to PTSD or training, cannot be adopted and would otherwise be put down. These dogs are trained, their disabilities taken into consideration, and they are paired with disabled veterans who can provide one-on-one attention.
I was at the closing ceremony when I heard this from the Save-A-Vet rep and wait to you read this. It seems Save-A-Vet was broke on the very 1st day of MFF. If it wasn’t for it’s volunteers who were willing to help and the support of MFF and the furries. They would have gone Out Of Business. MFF literally saved a charity.
Ever see a dance number that just blew you away this one did
I was there and on my feet for just over 2 hours, because there was no place to sit down.
Meanwhile at The Closing Ceremony
$62,020.71 was raised through various fundraising activities, including charity poker ($2,440), The Dragget Show ($104), Whose Lion Is It Anyway? ($648), Mystery Science Theater 3000 ($403), Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind ($460), the charity auction ($8,670), table donations of approximately ($6,000), and a donation from Midwest Furry Fandom, Inc. ($40,000). The charity auction saw $5,500 bid for a Blackhawks-signed charity hockey stick.
At closing ceremonies, a special auction was held for a “Dubious Raccoon” piñata based on Ursula Vernon’s 2005-era convention logo, which GreenReaper and Kira Tora had won from the charity auction. Alkali Bismuth acted as auctioneer and an additional $600 was raised for the piñata to be smashed open live, on stage, after closing ceremonies had concluded.
Initially, it was announced that “nearly $60,000” was raised for the charity at closing ceremonies. When someone from the audience asked how short of $60,000 the event was, it was revealed that another $400 would put the donation over $60,000. In response, attendees began to flood the stage, throwing down bills and coins of all denominations, to reach the total.
In case your wondering about “The Theme” this is when MFF decided No Themes which would be restored in a few years.

Why Do Furries Matter?

Love Thy Nerd did a fantastic article on furries that most of us have missed.
Although the full article can be found HERE
It starts out comparing us to Fred Rogers of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood fame.
To use language from the furry community, Daniel could be Rogers’ fursona, which is a creative expression of oneself through an animal with human traits in their features or behavior (i.e. anthropomorphism). Through Daniel, Rogers unknowingly exhibited a core aspect of what it means to be a furry.
Although they do go on to talk about the sexual aspect it isn’t the main focus.
It’d be foolish to feign ignorance toward people who involve or wholly construct fursonas around sexual desires. Even still, it’s outrageously false to assume that people only love the furry fandom for its erotic circles, which ignores others who have little to no involvement in them. Then there are others who find valuable potential in the fandom’s openness to seriously address the complexities and challenges of sexuality. But delving into these topics requires a thorough discussion through the lens of Christian sexual ethics that cannot be appropriately engaged here.
They even get into art, video games, and films such as Zootopia.
They also talk about LOVE such as the outpouring for Dogbomb and all the good work they have done.
Topped off by this
“The acceptance of self does not mean to be resigned to the status quo. On the contrary, the more fully we accept ourselves, the more successfully we begin to grow. […] When we accept ourselves for what we are, we decrease our hunger for power or the acceptance of others because our self-intimacy reinforces our inner sense of security. We are no longer preoccupied with being powerful or popular. […] We are less often plagued with the desire to please others because simply being true to ourselves brings lasting peace. We are grateful for life and we deeply appreciate and love ourselves.”
