After many years of lining up and waiting in a long line to get into the Dealers Den each Friday at opening, this year brings big changes!
If you’ve attended Biggest Little FurCon in recent years, you may be familiar with the timed entry system implemented for the initial hours of the first day. This system effectively managed the influx of attendees, creating a more orderly and predictable entry process. FurFest will be adopting this system for the first time this year.
A timed entry system offers several advantages, enhancing the overall convention experience for attendees. By eliminating the need to arrive hours early to secure a spot in line, attendees can allocate more time to explore other convention activities, maximizing their enjoyment. Additionally, timed entry helps to mitigate overcrowding within the Dealers Den throughout the day, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable shopping environment for all. As the convention continues to grow in popularity, timed entry becomes increasingly crucial to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees, particularly considering the limited space available within the venue. It’s important to note that timed entry is only requiredfor the first four hours of the Dealers Den, from 1 PM to 5 PM.
I don’t want to knock MFF for trying to make things easier. The 1st Day around Dealers can be a bit of a nightmare. One year the line began on the escalator. If there is any confusion which is bound to happen. It will only benefit The Sponsors who can ignore all of this, and how this is handled. I will be reporting on.
