Hello everyone,

We would like to take this opportunity to address any rumors that may be circling about an incident at Mephit Fur Meet this past weekend.

On Sunday, at approximately 12PM, our host hotel, Whispering Woods, received several calls from an upset individual who was offended that the hotel was hosting us.  The caller made several threats towards the attendees and the property, and the hotel notified the board of directors of the incident.  The local police were notified and sent investigators and officers to investigate the incident.  The police department has the messages and statements of the hotel staff and worked with us in various positions to verify the safety of our attendees.  The police are continuing to investigate and have increased the police presence to make sure there would be plenty of staff in the event the individual attempted to cause physical concerns.  The Board of Directors and the Operations staff were on heightened alert from the moment we were alerted to the incident. Our staff were monitoring, and we were prepared to implement our plans to protect our extended family here at Mephit Fur Meet.   

We take the safety and security of our attendees very seriously, and while we were very concerned, we were also instantly cautious to keep this within our staff members and not cause panic among our attendees.  As this is an ongoing investigation, we are limited on the information we are releasing but we would like to let everyone know that we took this threat seriously and our operations teams worked closely with police to maintain everyone’s safety and a friendly environment. 

We all thank you for your support and concern and we hope that this type of incident can have a peaceful resolution and that we will see everyone again next year when we start the weekend with our favorite saying, Welcome Home.

IFC 2023: The Contest You Didn’t Know #1

This year Indy Fur Con attempted to run 2 separate contests. I call them even if you at IFC it’s more than likely never heard of them.

Lets focus on what was told on their site to watch out for these agents of C.O.W.A. Created by Foxx Boxx Studios with a cash prize.

I put it down to them trying to incorporate the spy theme way too hard. Something I actually learned running this blog. You Got to Get The Word Out.

There was somewhere between 24 to 26 of these with letters and false clues and punctuation and even then you had to go to a secret Discord server for the final clue.

I learned this from a panel where I and 6 other people actually attended.

For the record I found 6 mostly C’s and this other person found 13. Personally I think a lot were just taking them as free souvenirs.

Did anyone actually win?

I contacted Foxx Boxx Studios and this is what they said.

Sadly the Cowspirisits have won this year resulting in no winners. Our game developers at Foxx Boxx Studios are looking to a bigger picture for next year.

 Bigger games are coming for next year with a doubled cash prize. We can’t give out too many hints this early, but we look forward to the 2024 year.
