Yes it is amazing as it looks, there are literally treasures around every corner. I bore you with what I saw, that is what the link is for.
The food in their Cafe was terrific, a bit expensive but terrific. For example I got a salad and soda it was $32. See what I mean.
As for today with essentially a day and a half to go. I am suppose to do some errands with one of my cousins then a trip off to what is suppose to be the best science museum in the state.
The truth is my time here is winding down, I leave late Wednesday for yet another 2 day train trip.
In addition did you know the Chinese Theater was around there and so is where Jimmy Kimmel does his show. Although I do have photos I am unable to post them atm. Not my home and things are a bit confusing. Typical when where traveling.
The one thing I can mention is the Chinese Theater is quite a bit smaller. Than it looks in the old videos. They also have guards protecting the footprints. They where showing an old movie. Casablanca I think. TCM also had it’s own theater. It’s quite an are with tons of venders, drag queens people trying to get tourists to buy their $10 CD, as well as costume characters and tour operators. The sidewalks for the most part crowded. I think one of the biggest surprises that they are still sell maps to the home of celebrates.
BTW Mel’s Dinner who I would even describe as a touristy place. Really did have great food. I had a meat loaf sandwich that was fantastic.
After some 42 hours of traveling , across 3 different times zone. The train being stopped some 5 times, including a servicing and a suicide. I finally made it to LA. Met up with my cousins to where i am at now. Even went to the Oscars Museum.
On top of that i have a form of jet lag. Been hit upon by white trash. Whose sob story is so complicated i am amazed they could keep it straight. And someone who wanted the bible taught in school. Some journey folks.
So waz it worth it. Ask me again when i get home.
The one thing i can mention the Dining Car meals. Had 1 Beyond Burger… i think I’ll have it again on my return trip. The other selections are a bit overpriced in my opinion
Turns out Albuquerque has such a unique Amtrak station it shares with both Greyhound and the local commuter train. The station even has baggage service.
As for a update we are 2 hours late with A potential of being 3 hours late. Since they are servicing the train currently.
Spoke to my cousins all is set no matter my arrival time which is currently WTF happens
