(The accompanying photo has nothing to do with emailing, skunks are cool. Skunk reacts if you agree (oh skunk isn’t an option…))

Furry Migration 2024: Extras

As I am about to post my 13th video on YouTube I figure it was time to talk about little stuff that was on my mind, Like Target which at the time I thought the only place I could snag a reasonably price soda. Target was a savor for me, I got hooked on their chicken salad sandwiches. Picking up snacks without the hotel mark up was great.

The light rail system, I know what I said before my trip. But heading up to the station and seeing trains not listing the correct last stop made me nervous. Turns out that is very common as all trains do go to their correct last stop despite what it sign says.

I don’t know what was said to me about addicts on the buses that made me take an Uber back to the train station. I am just happy I am home.

Furry Migration on the very last day reducing the price of the badges to just $10 was a real surprise. They also sold out.

I know a lot say Small Cons aren’t crowded. Just compare IFC to FM, IFC you had to work your way through. FM you could have ran down any hallway and still not ran into anyone. It really was not that crowded. Even though they did have over 2000. I swear they could double that number before feeling any impact.

Getting a smoothe at that place across from Registration was a delight. It was also delicious, and helped this graymuzzle recharge his battery.

FM was fantastic and despite my little complaints it was fantastic

Furry Migration 2024: A 2nd Look #2

I know it happens to some and good or bad it happened to me on Saturday. Where you are having a good time and something you feel is off.

I even went for a walk to get a soda at a nearby Target and hoped that would help it didn’t.

My day at Furry Migration began with a panel on Irish Music. It was quite peaceful.

Then I had to get set up for the Fursuit Parade, got my camera and tripod all set and when it started my camera, it didn’t I had technical issues. Nothing serious, just something a new SD card and battery can fix. On top of that my phone gave me an error code. A reset fixed that, but it was the first time I ever had with my phone. So no video from me… But it was recorded by someone else.

A very special thanks to Iron Coyote for getting the parade at an angle I never thought of.

Wild fursuits, the gay pride ones were a real surprise.

Saberspark had his first panel talking about BAD animated films. I swear people lined up to get in that one during the parade.

That Photographer Panel was great. I learned so much about my own cameras and what it would take to get a better one that wouldn’t cost an arm and a spleen.

Yes mine is there, but I am not saying which one.

The schedule Streetpass Panel was beyond amazing. I got 72 hits during the entire con, and almost more than my 3DS could handle at one time. With almost no doubles. Strange enough I have been hearing about people buying the 3DS just for Streetpass

I will NEVER take anything away from the dancers they all deserved to win

But something strange happened happened around 7pm. Call it the weird luck of that day.

I had planned to go to Furry Price is Right, and record it. When I noticed it not only started early but ended just at 7:05pm

I wish I could tell you why, but no one I spoke with had an answer

Part 3 soon

Furry Migration 2024: A 2nd Look #1

It’s hard to believe that Monday morning I was sitting in my hotel room, and by that evening I was in my home in Chicago and all of that by Uber and train.

Did Amtrak’s The Borealis effect Furry Migration? I would say yes in a way. I certainly noticed more furries heading back in the direction of Chicago than I did to St. Paul by about a 100. The train just gave people more options.

Furry Migration 2024 was fun, I fully admit I had a great time.

I have been to almost a dozen Opening Ceremonies but this was no doubt the funniest

I have never laughed so much at an opening ceremony than I did for that one.

Getting to have a seat 30 mins before anyone else was a huge bonus. That what happens when you go to Your first “FM” in this case.

Now for the elephant in the room Saberspark. Personal observation: he was so damn nice and the number who asked for his autograph I think even blew his mind. Everyone wanted to see him blasting horrible animated films. Which he did, filling to 2nd stage as well as the main stage to overflowing. No wonder FM asked him back. I swear he never spotted smiling.

The Meet the GOH panel was his as well as the others time to shine

We really learned what does it take to be a full time You Tuber and frankly I am not up for it. You want a good insider view of any of them watch the video.

My 3ds meet was a bust, nobody came. I am not trying to sound bitter. But I am not doing one again. Panels are a different matter.

I found the Retro Handhelds Panel disappointing, call it a misunderstanding on my part. I thought they meant the actual handheld not what it was playing ROMs on modern devices

Got to say the dancers are amazing and you all deserve to win.

Tea Time, I honestly learned more about tea in general

Furry Trivia

You were asked a series of questions and hoping not to come in dead last. My team we came in 4th of 8 teams.

A few things I learned from my trip, every major building has a place where ride share can use. Also use Uber or Grub hub app to order food it would have been way cheaper.

Food prices were high around $30 per meal. Ouch I know

More later

Furry Migration 2024 Final Day

Usually Sunday at most fur cons things start winding down. At FM not so much, oh sure we had people leaving the hotel. But then throw in Saberspark hosting another panel in Main Events. You got something.

Did go to a panel talking about what kind of cameras to buy, and that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get yourself a good camera. For those like me who are really into it.

The sticker panel was great, got some, and was able to trade for them.

Fursuit Games was wild, it ended with a Tug of War. Got the whole thing on video, and will be posting it hopefully soon.

Nerf Wars was something new to me and I had to check it out

Crazy I know

Which only leaves the Closing Ceremony, which was wild

They are all tentative numbers for now

2493 attendees… a clear jump of roughly 700 over last year

$8042 for charity

and the wildest thing of all

Saberspark was invited to come back as GOH next year…. and he finally admitted he was a furry.
