Ever wondered how they decide what sponsors get? The Board actually votes on it. A combination between what fits in the theme and and what they can get on time.

Normally I would wait a few days and post who gets what and for how much. It’s those last 2 words “How Much” has caused me to to create this post. As in prices went up. Okay this is normal as costs go up. But this year… even the Basic admission to the anime cons that are held in the same location has gone UP. Like $50 to $70

MFF is no exception

Furry History: Why MFF Form It’s Own Convention

I been asking this question for years and I just got a answer

Duckon was a science-fiction convention that more and more furry fans were attending. There was a degree of protection to their presence because Robert King, a furry and one of the main con staff, was married to the woman who had founded the convention. But tensions had gradually been building; I don’t know all the drama but the head of security was a born-again Christian and greatly disliked the furry presence. Con spaces were being made unavailable for furry programming until late, like only getting the main stage starting at midnight. I did a phone interview with Robert King years ago and he said another problem was when they were trying to invite Guests of Honor, there were a lot of refusals because of the fandom’s reputation. So the furry contingent broke off and started Midwest FurFest. It was the strategic thing to do and eased the tensions at Duckon.

MFF 2024 Mystery Solved

They make look like gems, but they are really stress balls. Everyone got a blue one until they ran out. Even the online store says SOLD OUT.

Which left “Where did that Red One came from?” Turns out according to Duncan who is on the MFF board. It was give to the staff as a gift and apparently they lost their’s.

Honestly I wish their was more to this, since the theme was The Great Furfest Heist.

Oh well

MFF 2024 Dealers Den Entrance

Yes I know it looks confusing, but this is the entrance to the Dealers Den at MFF. You will also notice people getting off the escalator and going somewhere. That is a tiny are where the elevator entrance sits and the entrance to the room

If your wondering why most have issues. This is it, most of the time there isn’t an issue. Until it gets crowded then there is I hope they come to a solution.
