Anime Review: Case Closed (TV series)

according to wikipedia

Shinichi Kudo is a high school detective who sometimes works with the police to solve cases. During an investigation, he is attacked by members of a crime syndicate known as the Black Organization. They force him to ingest an experimental poison, but instead of killing him, the poison transforms him into a child. Adopting the pseudonym Conan Edogawa and keeping his true identity a secret, Kudo lives with his childhood friend Ran Mouri and her father Koguro, who is a private detective. Throughout the series, he tags along on Koguro’s cases, but when he is able to solve one, he uses a tranquilizer needle to put Koguro to sleep, and impersonates his voice to reveal the solution to the case. He also enrolls in a local elementary school where he makes friends with a group of classmates who form their own Junior Detective club. While he continues to dig deeper into the Black Organization, he frequently interacts with a variety of characters, including his professor friend Dr. Agasa, Ran’s friend Serena, a fellow teenage detective Harley Hartwell, his parents, and many other characters.

I have been a fan of fan of Case Closed ever since I first saw it on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network years ago. Although I would agree with some the premise is a bit silly. But the mysteries are the best, I could give 100s of examples like how someone was murdered as they stood alone on a balcony 10 floors off of the ground and the only who could of done it, says they were in the bathroom. Or in another case how did this one guy hang himself 30 feet off of the ground. When the only other access to the beam the other end of the rope was tied to had no sign of anyone being on it. Also why at the very bottom of that room is a 6 foot round hole.

I have no idea why Case Closed isn’t more popular, maybe it’s because you got to love mysteries to watch this series.

My only complaint about the video below is the dialog has been speeded up.

Amino app Final Verdict

After trying a couple of groups on Amino I have come to one conclusion…it’s not for me. I am not saying it’s bad for everyone, just that being a blogger and all the work I had to go through just to get people to even look at my work was really not worth it. Take something I was actually proud about posting a weekly version of Furry Times on the Furry Net group on Amino. The most number of views the post even gotten was 5, yes just 5 views and that is for 20 mins of work. That and getting into a disagreement with it’s owner, I felt it was the right time to drop Amino and get it off my phone once and for all.

My observations…

If your into art or fursuit making than the furry groups on Amino are for you. Otherwise don’t even bother, writers hardly even get a nibble.

Associated Student Bodies

according to Wikifur

Associated Student Bodies, abbreviated as ASB, was a series of eight adult comic books produced by Lance Rund and Chris McKinley in the 1990’s. It has become a staple comic of the Furry fandom and most every furry art aficionado is familiar with it on some level.

The story of ASB revolves around a young lion, Daniel, who goes off to college to share a dorm with a wolf, Marcus, and an entire floor of predominantly homosexual roommates of various species. The series accounts Daniel’s discovery of his own same-sex feelings for Marcus, dealing with being gay in a hostile environment, and reconciling his feelings with his family and faith.

The series has inspired yearly calendar addendums, art print portfolios, and t-shirts. It was written by Lance Rund to be a complete story with a definitive beginning and end, and so it has not continued beyond its original eight issues. Before the reprint in 2004, issues of ASB could fetch $50 to $100 or more on various furry auction venues, such as FurBid and FurEAuction.

The series ran from 1998 to 2000, with a hardcover “yearbook” collection of all eight issues published in 2004.

Anime Review: Samurai Gun

Samurai Gun is a rather unique series set in a time period that was itself unique. Japan between the ancient ways and modern society. It was also a time period when 2 parties were out to control in Japan. The Shogun a self appointed ruler, and the Emperor.

It is the beginning of the industrial revolution, and feudal Japan is in turmoil. The ruling Shogun are wielding their abusive powers to instill fear and dominance over their oppressed subjects. Beatings, imprisonment, rape and even murder are the adopted tactics chosen to maintain their reign. The bloodshed must end. A group of Samurai have banded together, and, with the development of new weapons and new technology, they have both the will and the hardware to stand up and fight. Ichimatsu is one of these fighters. By day, he works incognito at a local tavern, in the evenings he frequents the brothels, and by the dark of night, he doles out some big-time, gun-barrel justice. He is here to help. He is Samurai Gun.

Every episode is a delight for the eyes, you see a mixture of so many genres…even a bit of steampunk. I have been watching the series for years and there is always something I have never seen before. The plots are a period of time, where you feel their world is almost at the point of civil war. Of how balance between “The Shogun Protective Bureau” and the “Samurai Gun”. Is always at a point of just before all out war, not to forget of how their world is changing, even though you already know the results you wonder was it a good thing?
