Anthrocon 2024 Hotel Reservations Reopened I

It began with

ANNOUNCEMENT: GENERAL HOTEL OPENING DELAY

During our Supersponsor hotel opening, we received multiple reports of issues with the booking software (Passkey) not properly holding attendees’ rooms during booking. We had initially tested this system with Passkey’s tech team, but further investigation revealed underlying issues with the implementation. The fix is currently being looked into by Passkey’s technical team, but we do not currently have a timeline on when it will be resolved.

As a result, we are delaying the General Hotel opening for Anthrocon 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause for those who have planned for the February 2 hotel opening. However, we wish to avoid any additional frustration of our members by trying to book a hotel room when the system is not performing as expected. We also sincerely apologize to any of our Supersponsors who were impacted by this situation.

1 Stan’s Donuts

Honestly this is the best Hot Chocolate I had in years. It is outright outstanding. Good rich chocolate flavor, creamy, and not too sweet. In other words perfect.

2 Whole Foods

Theirs frankly would have rated higher except for a unannounced change they made. It is now sold unsweetened and you have to add your own. Which depending on what type of sweetener can wildly effect the flavor.

3 Dunkin

This one I found surprising it’s more like chocolate cream, than hot chocolate… still good.


McDonalds
I don’t know what it is with them pre pandemic it was number 1. But ever since I think a lot depends on what mix they are using. This year Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate, not that it’s bad. In fact that is my favorite store brand… but not at $3 for a medium cup.


Hershey’s Hot Cocoa
I include this one because this is what you typically might see at gas stations, convenience stores, etc.
Overly sweet, but still drinkable


7 Eleven
I know some might get their Hot Coco fix at 7-11 overall it isn’t bad except for 1 thing. I could barely taste the chocolate.


Mariano’s
A Local area grocery chain and this year was bad. Any bottle of chocolate milk they have for sale would taste better heated then this crap. I have had dollar store chocolate milk that frankly tasted better.


Starbucks
Simply the worst hot chocolate I ever had. I almost tossed it in the trash because it was so terrible. Everything was wrong with this, on top of everything the chocolate tasted burned.
