Hello everyone, We are thrilled to announce the official dates for CanthroFur 4, which will take place from January 16th to 20th, 2025. This year, we have chosen an exciting and adventurous theme: “Perdrix and the awakening of the volcanoes”. See you soon, Perdrix.
That is almost the same square footage as The Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont. They expect BIG NUMBERS, frankly I believe this is possible. Ontario, CA is due west of Los Angeles. Why this is important. Major metro area, multiple airports and furries begging for a nearby con.
Of course only time will tell and that date is Sept 29, 2024 the final day of the con
Canada is getting another fur con and this one is in Calary, Alberta, Canada in 2025
“Howdy, yโall! There’s a fresh convention fixin’ to happen in the lively town of Calgary, Alberta! We’ll be slingin’ loads of new info in the months to come, and we’re just itchin’ to see ya on May 16th-18th, 2025.
THE FIRST GREETINGS Hello everyone, it’s me, Lam! I’m sure you’ve noticed my appearances on the posters distributed at Thaitails by now! Here’s some great news Lam would like to share with you: you’re about to have the chance to interact, have fun and engage with many furry friends, both domestically and internationally. This is the opportunity for us to connect and create memorable experiences together! Lam’s really excited to meet everyone at the fur event in Hanoi in late autumn this year!
I took that from their site which is still up after all this time.
Hello Everyone.
I regret to inform you that SpokAnthro will not be happening anytime soon for the foreseeable future. This was a difficult decision to be made by the board and myself.
Truth be told: The local community hasn’t been the same, especially since COVID. And it’s not just within the region, but everywhere else. It’s true that most conventions have been very successful since then; but we were still a newer con and haven’t had enough years for others to be familiar with us or show any interest. Because of this, this also means the lack of the volume of volunteers needed to keep it running. On top of that, hotel negotiations have since then proved rather difficult. One would think that hotels would want any form of business, especially to make up the amount of revenue lost because of the pandemic. However, it is unfortunate that this is not the case whatsoever. And those who showed interest want a lot more money than what would usually be spent to hold an event.
I would not consider this a farewell, but I feel it would be best, for the benefit of our behalf, that we put SpokAnthro in stasis for the time being until things start picking up again. And when they do, I’d be happy to chair the next convention.
For those who have previously paid for the year that never happened, refunds will be made available. For further information on this, please see the statement below from the president of our board of directors. You can also contact registration@spokanthro.org for assistance.
I apologize for giving this news, but I could not let anyone wait any longer. I was hoping that things would be promising when I returned from my hiatus, but unfortunately that isn’t the case. But I feel that it was appropriate and fair for me to inform you personally about the current issue. Thank you for making our first year memorable and for those who wish to return and to those who would like to experience it first-hand, I do hope we see you when the time is right.

Sure it’s sad when a con closes, but it’s been 4 years
