Digger Volume 2 Review

The second collection of Digger features the third and fourth chapters of the highly acclaimed webcomic. Digger is still lost in the strange land she discovered at the end of a one-way tunnel, which now seems more intentional than accidental. A seemingly innocuous fossil she picked up on the way is suspected of having more to it than meets the eye, and the beneficient talking statue of Ganesh has a need that sends Digger and a decidedly unhinged acolyte deep underground in search of answers.
Compared to all that, vampire squash, hungry hyenas, and over-zealous religious police are trifles, really…
Digger Volume Two continues the story which is attracting so much attention. The New York Times calls Digger “…A visually powerful strip.”, and Ping Teo (“The Jaded”) says “Everyone’s been rhapsodizing about it, and with good reason.” This collection also contains a short bonus section written and illustrated by Ursula, describing the domesticated species of moles favored by wombat society in the pursuit of their digging.
I never even heard of the Digger webcomic before buying Digger volume 2 at the most recent MFF and what I found utterly delighted me. What you get is a great story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, wonderful characters whose backgrounds will surprise you sometimes in the countryside being Australia that most of us really don’t know much about.
I give Digger a solid 10 and if I knew it was this good I would of bought the entire series collection instead of just volume 2. Solid 10 out of 10.

Captain Pulsar’s Rocketship Rodents #1 Review

Published between 2004 and 2008 with a total of 6 issues? Captain Pulsar’s Rocketship Rodents makes fun of the whole scifi genre with a good dose of gay sex which is almost on every single page. Issue #1 is fun, good artwork, and an enjoyable if not a NSFW to kill a little time. What can I say the 1st issue only has 25 pages of comics. Currently available through Rabbit Valley I actually recommend this one but only if you want a good gay sex comic.
Furry Comic Book Review: Save State #1 by Tim Weeks
Another MFF 2018 pick up, I have been a fan of Save State comics for some time, the main reason I have been a gamer most of my life and it’s hard to find good video game humor. Save State never fails to make me laugh when I was reading this collection on my way home after MFF. The people around me were wondering “What is He Laughing AT?” I was really LOL. PIck this up if you want a good laugh, they also make fun of retro games like this…
A SOLID 10/ 10
Furry Comic Review: Armored Gears #1 by Dan Lee
I picked this one up at MFF 2018 simply because I really like the cover art. Being a supporter of our vets I thought it looked interesting to pick up. What I got was something rather unique but in a good way. The comic is set in the Philippines in the dark days of WW2 when soldiers were being killed by an invading force of Japanese as they made their way across the Pacific. Believe me, the real history of WW2 in the Pacific is far more than just Pearl Harbor and the Atom Bomb. Armored Gears being just a comic only touches on those dark days. But really had a twist I did not see coming, and that is a Mecha. Of course, they did not have them back then, but like I said an interesting twist. I know I will be checking out future issues when they become available to see where this story goes next.
Overall rating 7/ 10

Komos and Goldie comic by Joe Strike and Oliver Coombes
Komos and Goldie is the kind of comic that is hard to put into just one category. This pair in this NSFW comic (not for sex, it’s just that Goldie is nude), crime fighting, South Park style humor, action, even right now I find it difficult to describe what it is with a sense of justice.
Speaking of which I remember reading in Joe Strike’s Book Furry Nation of how he had this idea for a comic based upon his fursona and what we eventually got is so very unique. I honestly think most would enjoy this no holds barred comic. Honestly, who of us hadn’t though with all some superpowers this one hero has why don’t they do X, Y or even Z. Z being turning 2 cops into horses so they could ride them to the police station.
I admit I knew nothing about the comic until I learned about Oliver Coombes on Twitter and because of National Comic Book Day I requested a free copy of Komos and Goldie and I really like the work, and was happy it was a webcomic so more people could read it, made it all the better.
I give the comic my highest rating 10/ 10
