Furry Migration Day 3

To say the least Saturday was a very interesting day for me. In not a good way.

My day started with a panel on Irish music. It was really nice.

The Fursuit Parade for me started out okay. I found my spot, set up my tripod and camera and poof.

The parade happened and I had forgot to recharge the battery in my camera. I tried my cell, too much is a hurry and lets just say I didn’t record a thing.

Although the fursuits were fantastic

I am sure it was recorded by others

My bad luck with the Saberspark panels continued. Imagine arriving a bit early only to find out all the seats were taken and you got at least 30 standing.

The Streetpass panel was beyond delight. I finally gave away 2 things I consider junk. Also had about 64 hits to Streetpass. 3 puzzled completed and more than 1 shocked that Fur Cons attract Streetpass.

The Social Anxiety Panel helped, especially after the Furry Price is Right panel was cut short and my anxiety panel lasting only 30 minutes.

That just left the 85 Years of Convention History which was amazing.

It was full day and i was tired for some much needed rest.

Tomorrow will be my last report at the con, and more detailed reports soon after along with videos.

Furry Migration Day 2

After finding out that the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis only has public wifi I am back on my laptop. Haha.

After having a rather nice breakfast over at the nearby Nicolette Cafe I braved for what Friday had to offer.

It began with A Sneak Peak at Furry Migration, my 1st panel

I have been to a few of these, but I swear they get funnier and funnier. They make fun of getting around the con as well as a point to have fun.

They did give US a surprise. Even though we were a half hour early, they let us in to The Opening Ceremony. Honest we got pick of the seats, I got in a great spot for my recording of it. I really recommend watching it. I swear it was so funny, they even made light of the upcoming election. Although I do have to make it a point that they didn’t take sides.

One thing I did learn, that since they were in a larger spot in the hotel. That the entire attendee for last year… some 2000 could sit with room to spare. What I saw was nearly every seat taken, with some standing. I believe they set a record, how big we have to wait for the Closing.

The Dealers Area was a good size when many unique items, they also had an adults only market. Oh My.

My Streetpass meet was a bust, no one came and I only got 10 Streetpass hits total that day. I think I know why, they confused my meet with the panel happening today. I am bringing 2 items to hopefully give away if the one running the panel agrees. We just have to see.

Meet the Guest of Honor panel was great, got to know a fursuit maker. A lot of insider stuff about both Avian Invasion and Saberspark. No Saberspark did not say he was a furry. Fun panel though.

The Dance later was great, a tea meet was informative, and a Furry Trivia panel where I am happy to say I did not come in last place. Had camera issues and uncertain if I will post that video

Room Parties later, like they say “What happens at a fur con, stays at the fur con”.

Lastly something I was not officially apart of that was their Friday scheduled Furwalk. I wanted to get it’s start, so many fursuits, so little time. Truthfully I would have loved to be apart of it. But because of the panels I wanted to see I really didn’t have the time. But I did get the opening,

Furry Migration Day 1

After what turned into a 7 hour and 40 minute train ride. Personally The Borealis is average for Amtrak. Except those new train cars alllowed me to nap.  What can i say i was tired.

Arriving in St. Paul to where the hotel is located. Was a $23 Uber ride, and a confusion on my part where to catch it. Turns out there is a place just outside and to the north of the main entrance.

I blame myself, for not knowing this.

The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is a good hotel a tad expensive for my tastes. But i did get my badge and tee.

The hotel restaurant, really has good food.

Now to way i am typing this out on my phone.

I was told last night all i had to do was enter my email address. You guessed it, that didn’t work. I have to talk to them later about this.

Also like usual on the train once you got to the middle of no where. You lost wifi and cell signal. Which changed my plans.

So will any later posts be on their wifi is up to them.

UPDATE

I am finally able to connect on their Public Wifi, no email address needed.

Going to Furry Migration 2024

Today I am taking the train to St. Paul then onto Furry Migration. I hope to get my badge sometime this evening. I will also do a special report later today with the full story posted tomorrow. Beyond that I am totally unsure. I know getting the train is pretty well set, but everything else. Well… your guess is just as good as mine.
