Knives Out: Film Review (No Spoilers)

I went to see Knives Out yesterday and it turned out to be both funny and have one of the best NON BBC mysteries I have ever seen. When you think it was going one way, it wasn’t for long and that ending took me totally by surprise. If you love good mysteries and like to laugh Knives Out is a fantastic film

Film Review: Once Upon A Time in Hollywood (No Spoilers)

Really the only thing I knew about Once Upon A Time in Hollywood was from the trailer. Also, it had something to do with Sharon Tate and the connection to Charles Manson. With the obvious out there, let me tell you in this film you get a perfect glimpse of what Hollywood was like in 1969. Sometimes funny, sometimes weird, and the backbiting made an attack by a werewolf seem tame. Although there are no werewolves in the film. You get a story of both Hollywood as it was and still is to some degree and of an actor and his stunt double/ driver.

The story was great, the plot wonderful, but that ending was totally unexpected and well worth waiting for. I really recommend seeing it.

Film Review: Hobbs and Shaw (No Spoilers)

I saw The Fast and The Furious: Hobbs and Shaw, and I know what you are waiting for. It is a good film and even if your not a fan of the franchise and know the actors better than the series. You will enjoy it, tons of action, some of the best stunts I have ever seen. Hobbs and Shaw is the kind of film you can enjoy, without thinking too much about the plot. Which to me was a bit corny and maybe the end was too. But like I said you will have fun, I know I enjoyed it too.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 Film Review (Spoiler Free)

The Secret Life of Pets 2 was a real surprise, yes I saw the trailers but it did not go into how much has changed for all the major characters and it was delightful. Seeing them all getting used to a new normal. But like the first, it was totally insane, and I laughed myself into a sore throat this morning. There is so much I like to talk about but can’t, because I don’t want to ruin it for you. I know it’s weird saying this but Harrison Ford as the farm dog Rooster was perfect casting. As Rooster was the most level headed being in the entire film. Seeing a Cat Lady to end all Cat Ladies, and her cats driving her car. The whole bit with the circus, Daisy, and Snowball made me laugh the hardest. The fight to the death between that circus monkey and Snowball made me thought I was losing my mind, and you will not believe what happens to the Siberian Tiger. Not even after you see it.

Okay, I will allow myself one tiny spoiler, during the ending Snowball sings Panda, the absolutely funniest version of that song I have ever seen period. I thought I was going to die laughing.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 will make you forget about your problems and make you smile even the day after you have seen it.

Film Review: Ralph Breaks The Internet

I got to start out by saying Wreck-It Ralph is one of my favorite films. Being a gamer I got all of those little inside jokes only we gamers would understand. Ralph Breaks The Internet, takes the characters to a whole different level. Taking it from what hardcore gamers know to these days where everyone is online all the time with that smartphone or tablet your either using right now or certainly, have nearby. I literally saw one of the best depictions of what the internet is like now minus all the porn. Everything I saw on the screen was so true. Like the Pop Ups and their depiction of Tweets which were extremely well done.

I am trying to be spoiler free here but even if I told you how the film starts or even how it ends…which I have to admit I saw coming. Doesn’t really matter as this film was more about friendship and love more than anything else including the secret to raising kids. I’ll let you figure that out, and by the way, Nick Wilde of Zootopia is in there for maybe 8 seconds. I admit it was good to see him, like the Disney Princesses taking a bigger role in figuring out their place in the world of things. I was actually surprised when one of the princesses copied the same action the same character made in Shrek 3. I know weird like I felt about the film. It is so good, but yet so different. It’s really hard without giving things away, what I liked and what I didn’t but even then as it turns out it was necessary to the plot. Which can be stated, as knowing when to let go and let your friend grow. I know that rhymes I was going for that.

So is Ralph Breaks the Internet well worth both your time and money?

Hell yes!!! But don’t go into the theater expecting the same film as you did a couple of years ago. It’s different alright and you will literally see yourself or at least your online self and it might cause you to change your internet habits.

One thing I want to point out before you give you my score. That the scene you have seen in the trailer with the Bunny and the Cat is there in the closing credits, so if you want to see that stick around for a while.

My Overall Score 8/ 10

Film Review: Bohemian Rhapsody

Had a chance to see Bohemian Rhapsody yesterday, the main reason I went to see it is because I have been a fan of Queen most of my life and was curious. What I found was a truly amazing story you could almost call it the raise and fall and rise again of Queen. I know others have gone in to somuch detail about the film and it’s plot to say spoiler alert would be an understatement. The film is magnificent, the story equally so, and that ending had me truthfully in tears. I don’t care if you know anything about Queen or not, do yourself a favor and SEE THIS FILM!!!!

Overall Rating A SOLID 10!!!!

Movie Review: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald

Who hasn’t seen the trailer for this film? Believe me, seeing the trailer vs. watching the actual film is 2 completely different things. The film was incredible, that opening scene is better than most I have seen in the James Bond series. Filled with so many twists and turns, if anyone said they knew it was going to happen is a complete and total lie. J.K. Rowling has completely outdone herself, as this film had me on the edge of my seat to the very end. Which only left me wanting more as the ending credits went by.

I am trying to keep this as spoiler free as possible…but holy cow!!! Heroes become traitors, people and characters actually die. Names you will completely recognize from the Harry Potter series, and more than wondering why Dumbledore went from a nice 3 piece suit to bejeweled robes.

This is nothing short of a revolution in more ways than one to any fan.

Really I can not wait for the sequel

Overall 10/ 10

Film Review: Hotel Transylvania 3 Summer Vacation (Spoiler Free)

First of all, I want to make it clear to everyone that I have NEVER seen any of the previous Hotel Transylvania films. In fact, I was drawn to this film because of that HILARIOUS trailer.

So I really didn’t know what to expect, but let me tell you this film does not disappoint. It is absolutely HILARIOUS from beginning to end. I will even go as far to say that the animated credits at the very end of the film are absolutely worth watching.

Mary and The Witch’s Flower Spoiler Free Film Review

Like I told a friend Harry Potter it isn’t. Mary and The Witch’s Flower is an incredible film with so many twists and turns you know you have to watch it a second time to absorb everything.

The visuals are stunning, there are points you can’t even tell it’s an animated film. Story / Plot unique but very entertaining, all I can really say here is Mary and The Witch’s Flower is one of those films you really want to watch to the very end. Really you will not be able to figure out what happens next save for a few times. A film all ages will enjoy, and like I said quite unique. All I can say for the Harry Potter reference it’s similar at one point, but circumstances are far different. This is where it gets interesting more like will they or won’t they. See I set myself for a spoiler free review and I am already hinting at a major plot point.

All I really can say is this if you enjoy the trailer you will absolutely love the film.

My score 10/10

Incredible 2 Film Review (Spoiler Free)

I knew when I saw both the opening of The Incredible 2 by the voice actors and that warning on the light sensitivity issue that some might have that I was about to see something very special. WOW!!! Excuse the word but it truly was an INCREDIBLE film. Really in some ways far better than the original, which I did see before I went to see the sequel. A far deeper story, way-way deeper plot, the animation is far better than the original. Easter Eggs galore, and so much if I even say a word more about it. Except to say it does have a good ending, everything including that much talked about the scene with the “Underminer”. To this furry makes a whole lot of sense and any talk that is doesn’t or whatever. In my opinion, they did not see the film. Because there is no other conclusion, like Jack – Jack’s powers and who becomes that kids babysitter at one point simply had the audience stunned. I am really not joking.

Incredibles 2 is truly one of Pixar’s best.

The whole family will enjoy this film guaranteed.
