All I know that sometime this month IFC is going to open it’s hotel block, then I get my bus tickets and all is set for IFC 2026…. Or is it?
I have been checking out Google Maps a lot lately… Not to check locations, but restaurants.
I know the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis has a very expensive restaurant as well as 1 or 2 others. I am talking about up to $100 per plate at the most expensive 1.
Lets take Tony’s of Indianapolis, it’s listed as $100+, it’s directly across the street
I don’t know about you, I have NEVER spent that much for a meal in my life.
I am not saying all places are that expensive, the Embassy across the street. There menu isn’t terrible. A tad bit more than I like paying. But in a pinch. There are a few other options in the neighborhood. I would not say it is lacking in restaurants and you can grab a pizza slice at more than one.
Then there is the Subways option, I am still am unsure where it is exactly. Just in the same complex as far as I know.
I swear I am going to be the only furry reporter/ restaurant critic at IFC
Did find a rather reasonably priced Mexican place surprisingly near the hotel.
Got to keep my options open

So did my IFC vids have an effect on attendance?
I would say so, after all this year saw the largest jump in attendance in their history around 300. The Fursuit Parade their largest, I wonder how many did it twice. A unique feature to the corridor layout.
I am also happy that a lot of suggestions I made was happily accepted. Even ones I posted to my X including a more accurate counts.
In addition according to social media a lot of problems with the hotel are seemly fixed. No reports of bad elevators, the area around the pool was finally finished, and I even saw a report on how the rooms were slightly upgraded. No more faulty thermostats.
I will be returning just unsure when
IFC is going on right now and I wanted to give those their a helping paw and a little tip for anyone who goes their in the future.
The Contest
You may think this is just a throw away thing that they are doing, but I learned last year even solving that puzzle they had on announcing the Sponsor Dinner actually had a surprise. Like being on Stage during Closing Ceremony. I have to label them more as rumors. But a few insiders have contacted me after that messed up art contest, where no prize was given. Turns out too many clues were taken.
So what did IFC do? They upped the prize.
For Legal Reasons I have to say this is a rumor, but…. Legally that is all I can say.
A Top Badge, artwork, Being on Stage all possible
I would love to see if anyone wins this contest.
I totally agree with many posts I found on Twitter that this is totally unprofessional, especially when they gave zero reasons why this happened.
In fact the only thing I found that might explain why was this…
Okay call me dumb, but if a panel was running longer than it should. Why couldn’t someone just go to where it was being held and shut it down.
That’s what MFF does all of the time, so there is no excuse.
I can tell you why no one did this, because the panel was popular and everyone was having a good time.
