Indy Fur Con 2023 Day 1

As I stated yesterday, that was my traveling day. Going at least 179 miles from Chicago to a hotel I barely heard about is an experience I will never forget. But anyway I am here at the Wyndham Indianapolis West. Between now and Monday when I head home.

I promised to cover a lot of detail and first up the hotel.

When I arrived I knew I was in the right location.

Despite some of the negative reviews of the Wyndham Indianapolis West. I found the staff friendly a Cafe which is more like a convivence store with a Starbucks well stocked and open 24 hours.

My room is clean the only issue the carpet has a few spots. That’s it. As for the hotel standard complaint elevators. Nothing new, nothing major.

The in hotel restaurant Nicolino’s Italian Restaurant. Has in my opinion some of the best Italian food I had in a long time. The one thing I can say they can cook pasta just right. They do have a cheaper con menu with food being around $10 good selection. Going to go there for breakfast.

Indy Fur Con 2023 – Oh Brother

By now if you follow me on Twitter or X you know I am now well known to the staff of Indy Fur Con. Not for anything bad, just being insistent over things like the map and schedule. I don’t know if they pieced together my RL name, Dr Timefox or Furry Times. That will come with time when I know the answer. Like the Sponsors Dinner and the route of the Fursuit Parade, one of which was revealed days before the con. Which unlike other years the staff had not make public right away, for some reason.

Okay I might as well say this I am going to be a Super Sponsor. Getting all that good Sponsor Swag, and staying in the same hotel as the con, as well as the Sponsor Dinner.

This will really be interesting.

As I said before everything is planned out. I got the time off from work, as my boss said I work hard and I deserve the time off.

I already kind have figured out a couple of videos to take. Since this will be my 1st IFC, I am just a little nervous. The one thing I can say it’s not going to be crowded as MFF. But that really is it. There isn’t much about this con online. I think I will be the 1st to give literally everything a full review. From the hotel, the in house restaurant and cafe to the staff itself as well as how the convention operates. I might even take about the nearby Waffle House.

Enough so that I am going to alter what I normally post starting tomorrow Aug 25th The Actual 1st day of the con. I will be totally focused on reporting what I see and when I can link a video I made. Like usual it will be totally honest. As well as facts and figures on Monday, the day after the con. The same day I head home.

One other thing and this really came out at the last minute. Ads for not only my site but a few others. Given what happened at 2 cons and I am not joking 2 furries were banned for dropping off their own ads in apparently the wrong place. Since I want to do the same without getting banned, I am going to ask. As in I don’t want to get banned. The same thing will happen at MFF later this year. I don’t want any problems.

That’s all I can say for now coverage starts Tomorrow

Indy Fur Con Dealer Map

Don’t ask who is going to be at the other spaces, I don’t know. Frankly I was lucky to find this on Telegram

IFC Official Map

Already I have been given the title of a good spy from IFC.

I will admit though this does explain holes in their schedule

IFC Schedule Issues and More

Here I am with everything all set for Indy Fur Con which starts in 12 days, and I can’t believe what I am seeing from this convention. The schedule even though is up is basically incomplete. No rooms listed and several Panels their is no description what they are.

I will bet the the $11 I have set aside in this one app, that the title of my 1st article there will be “IFC Where in the World is Registration?”. Surprising enough it is the only one listed.

As for the Fursuit Parade route? Nothing and you see why that is important when you look at the map. It’s for an older event but it does give you an idea where things are.

Call me OCD or a perfectionist I like some idea where I am going to set up my camera.

Let alone The Sponsor’s Dinner, no time or location

Now get this according to this one IFC group I joined on Telegram, this is normal for them. I hope they are better organized when the convention is actually running.

I am curious what will happen during the actual con.

UPDATE: Applications for Artist Alley started today

19 Days to Indy Fur Con

Here I am with everything well planned, I know how I am going to get there. I know roughly where I am going to eat and I anxious to go. But yet there are way more unknowns then I feel comfortable to even mentioning. As I said before I have never been to Wyndham Indianapolis West, this is the 1st IFC held at this hotel. They may have posted their schedule https://indyfurcon2023.sched.com/ and I know roughly what I am going to do “Yeah Fursuit Parade!!!”

But I can’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed by all of this, there are just too many knowns. Ok I also feel a bit nervous. My 1st fur con outside of MFF, ones I hope to continue to do. Going to some place different every year. Why is simple, A Promise made to myself for surviving the pandemic, and as long as I can afford to go why not. Although I know it will take me months to pay this off.

I am not wealthy, just your average furry trying to survive.

As weird as this sounds, over the last few years MFF seemed to lost something I really can’t describe very well. As the con got bigger and bigger, the charm seem to have diminished. Something as simple as a hug from a fursuiter in the lobby of the hotel is gone. It’s just too crowded.

Take last year when this fursuiter gave away donuts

This may not look so bad, but the rest of the floor was packed, it was ridiculous how crowded it was. No fursuit parade, con suite gone, being able to catch your breath.

Mind you I am still going to MFF this year. But things had to change for me, I use to commute, now even I got a room. Due to some advice I received, amazing I got fans every where. I get it Hotel to Dealer’s area in the next video. I need to go early like around 8AM or even earlier to get the photos/ videos I want to take. That’s when the more famous YouTubers do theirs. Crazy I know.

But like I said things have changed. I just have to see how things go, the same at IFC. If you checked out the schedule you will notice it doesn’t list what rooms the panels are scheduled for or let alone what route the fursuit parade will take. I am recording it and will post it on YT. I bought myself a tripod just for this video, or let alone when the Sponsor’s Dinner will take place… more on that later.

Both Opening and Closing Ceremonies are possible.

Beyond that it is hard to say, there will be a YouTube short on Day 1, still plan on 10 videos.

As for the coverage I am playing this by ear.

That’s it for now… more later

Mr Wolf Goes to IFC

Since it’s in a little over a month away, I might as well make it official I am going to Indy Fur Con. I got my room and badge set, plans have been made for coverage… This is going to be interesting.

IFC is in a a brand new hotel, their overflow hotel is literally right next door, there is a Waffle House a few blocks away. So it’s going to be interesting for all of us.

Some might ask Do I have a roommate? The answer is no, and the reason why is simple I am a bit fussy when it come to things and I don’t want any drama… so I will be alone.

I am going cover everything from transport, hotel and even available food… nothing will be left out.

Also I will be making videos and hope to use the hotel’s wifi to get them posted faster. It is going to feel like you are there.

Indy Fur Con Sets Special Guests

Another example of the Cassidy Civet fallout. Since they were dropped as a Guest of Honor they made Feret Studios Artist of Honor.
