22 Days Until MFF

Current circumstances will make my annual coverage of MFF tough…but not impossible. It will be reporting on what I see and hear from reliable sources. My video coverage will be different this year and it does not involve my current problems. It’s just a matter of numbers, it seems most of you like to read what I like, rather than watch me in a video…and frankly I can’t blame you. Besides I get nervous in front of a camera, even when it’s my own.

To me, usually Panels are my main focus, but this year seems to be the worse. If I do go to any, it will be the fewest in my 7 trips to MFF. Even on Friday, the day I usually pick up my badge. I am totally unsure if I will even be there that day because there is so little to do.

But it will be covered, in a way, I won’t be able to explain until after MFF. Given certain circumstances, that is beyond my control. Speaking of which Milo Y. beyond that, I won’t mention his name. But it is easily found on Google and why he is even mentioned. Is because social media is all a buzz, over some sort of demonstration, by him or his followers or both. Then there is what a Police officer told me privately, that MFF will have increased security this year. So I advise everyone, don’t cause problems. Security will be monitoring the Fire Alarms during the entire convention.

No wonder some have decided to skip MFF 2019.

No one is 100% positive everything will go smoothly, we will have our fingers crossed and that’s it. That is the best we do give the rumored hate groups that claim they will be there, and will they be able to do anything? Your guess is a good as mine.

Cameras will be at the ready and I advise everyone to keep your handy, you might need it.

Security and MFF

With all that talk from Milo the nazi and MFF releasing that statement over that idiot. I know some have concern over their safety, like when Furry Broadcast Network said they had changed their plans by not going to MFF this year. That is their own business, but I have no concern and let me tell you why.

Security at MFF is tight, in addition to the 1000s of cameras placed in and around both the Hyatt Regency and the nearby convention center. Armed security is always available in the form of both armed security by the hotel and the local law enforcement agencies. I personally saw Rosemont Police, Cook County Sheriff Officers, the Illinois State Police, TSA, and Homeland Security at the convention last year. A dealer in the Dealer’s Area even said to me that in addition there were undercover FBI and Secret Service agents there, many of who were turned furry by the convention due to the fact fursuits were being ordered.

There have been 2 acts of pure idiocy since the gas attack. One was the Confederate Flag Fursuiter and that uniformed neo-nazi shouting racist rants. The Police were there during the acts and both were arrested and banned permanently. It wasn’t like anyone had to wait for the cops, they were there less than 2 minutes according to witnesses. Which means they had to be there On-Site.

Midwest FurFest 2019 Official Expansion

Yesterday on MFF Official Discord Channel they released the floor plan which includes the newly expanded Dealer’s Den

This is a major expansion what was the Dealers Den is now the 2nd Stage, Panel Rooms and Headless Lounge. Artist Alley which was located on the 1st Floor is now on the 2nd where the 2nd Stage was last year. I think the biggest news is the Dealer’s Den is now in an area nearly twice as big.

MFF Phase 1 Get Registered

I have officially completed my Pre Registration for MFF 2019, I will be there as a Sponsor. Once again I tell you my reason why I did this. I don’t want to wait another 2 hours and 11 minutes in line like I did last year.

MFF Last Day 2017 vs. 2018

These are photos I have taken at MFF and I want you to see the difference in crowd size

2017

Now compare that to 2018

Sit Stay Read Coverage of MFF $92,000 Donation

Sit Stay Read covered on their own site of their time at MFF and they said a lot of nice things

I don’t know if I will ever have words to describe SitStayRead’s experience this weekend at Midwest Fur Fest. The community at the Midwest Fur Fest were truly some of the kindest, most generous, giving and inclusive people I have met in my life. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity – both for SitStayRead and personally – to be part of the Midwest Fur Fest! The donations will touch SO many lives (both Human and Canine) – and will make a difference in the lives of those we serve!

MFF Memories: On A Personal Note

MFF turned out really terrific this year with Sit, Stay, Read getting $92,794 and that exciting Closing Ceremony best one I ever have seen. Not to forget the great panels and running into the Jib Kodi and his amazing panel. But with all the good things I saw one of the most surprising things were running into old friends. Who I would admit I would like to see more, but circumstances. Well anyway, one of the things we talked about was my old bowling meet. One told me that I left at the right time, they could see my meet had reached it peaked and they could see some weren’t happy for some reason and were planning on not coming back. This was before the meet was stolen, and the more we talked I knew they were right. But the most surprising was when they told me what happened to these thieves. Karma or whatever they certainly got there’s. So what exactly happened, you should know if you are not aware of them that there are 2 successful furry bowling meets in the area. One in Downers Grove and the other in Hoffman Estates. It turns out that nearly everyone who was involved in the conspiracy to steal my bowling meet is banned from one or both of them. For the simple reason of trying to steal that meet. Remember that Lilac who did that video bashing me? She is banned from Downers Grove and it has something to do with my old meet. Although I don’t know the exact details, it seems she won’t be allowed back until 2 things happen. Take that video down and post an apology to me. What a convention. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that they got themselves banned from the Boo at the Zoo event as several were asked never to come back. But that is not all, it seems those thieves did not come to MFF this year, neither did Lilac.
