You got a Gift Card for the holidays? and don’t know what to do with it. First of all your not alone, according to this one retailers assn. there is something like 1 Billion US Dollars in unused gift cards out there. I know that number is shocking, and it’s not a number I pulled out of the air. It’s fact, just use your favorite search engine and you see it for yourself.
So what do you do with a Gift Card you either don’t want or can’t use…and no I am not going to say send them to me. We both know that is pure crazy. But their are some real answers.
1st many Currency Exchages and Pawn Shops this time of year post signs that they are buying them. You may not get the full retail value for them, but it’s some extra cash you can use.
2nd Many charities use donated Gift Cards as both a fun raising tool and to buy stuff for their clients. Especially clothing and personal hygiene products. Donating them can be especially simple as dropping the Gift Cards in an envelope and mailing it to them.
3rd Re-gifting them to someone. Last year and this is no joke one guy had a bunch of them and was giving them out on the street.
4th okay if you really want to give them to me….this last one was my little joke.
