This all began earlier this week, when a good friend gave me their old computer. They said it wasn’t that old and well maintained by a mutual friend. So I took it, and it has been a pain in my side ever since. There are untold number from problems I found after my friend gave me his password to his PC. When I quickly discovered it was running super slow, lets just say just as fast as a snail frozen in a block of ice.
That was the easiest of the problems I faced so far, a simple defragging more or less solved that one. But what I found after I ran separate anti spyware and anti virus programs. Told me the real reason why it was running so slow. It was because of a real nasty piece of software called, “My Web Search”. Which according to most sites is the worst anything you could ever install on your PC. For it is nothing but spyware and viruses hidden in a tool bar.
Now here is what caused me to write this, after I attempted to remove “My Web Search”. That my effort removed Mircosoft’s validation of Win XP. Now it won’t even let me log on, for it scrambled the key for Windows. I find now that I have no choice but to wipe it’s hard drive and reinstall Windows.
