My Very 1st Fur Con: 1st Thoughts

I admit when a saw that small gathering of fursuiters in front of the hotel when I finally arrived at Midwest Furfest I had a lump in my throat. It’s hard to describe my thoughts and feelings expect a huge feeling I was overwhelmed by it all. Call it way too much, way too fast.

I was to meet another fur whom was to be my guide, I rushed through Registration, and then
on to the spot they picked for the upcoming fursuit parade. Where I felt even more overwhelmed if that is possible.

As to the Fursuit parade itself, I was amazed by the wide variety of fursuits and the imagination of their creators in word ‘Incredible”

Then on to lunch in the American Grill, then on Dealer’s Den where my guide had to pick up some art they commissioned. Really I had little time to adsorb it all. I was to meet another fur there but I completely forgot and sent them my apology via Facebook.

Believe me, it takes more than words to relax when your overwhelmed by a factor of a 1,000.

I admit it took most of my time there just to relax, but really what did it for me was talking to this guy
in a dog fursuit. They even admitted they were nervous, even scared there 1st time. But there he was in this fursuit.

Then I saw the most incredible event possible, Floor Wars. Which in case you don’t know is a dance competition. In this case a 2 on 2 competition. With some of the most incredible moves I ever saw in my entire life. Standing ovation to everyone, especially the winners of the fursuit division Picture Perfect. The moves they pulled off, left everyone cheering…including me.

But overall I really did enjoy myself, and plan to go back next year.

Come back tomorrow for Part 2 Registration and The Fursuit Parade
