I noticed over the last 6 years or so the number of new posts on Furry Forums are shrinking. Even though I am an editor on the Fb page of this one furry forum. It’s hard not to notice that my own posts on their Fb page gets more activity than what is on the forum itself. So why is this?!! It’s mainly do to the popularity of social media apps for our phones, it’s really hard not to not to notice this as these apps gain in popularity. These forums see an ever shrinking number.
Ask yourself when you try and see what other furries are up to where do you go?
My guess is furry forums are not your 1st choice. I have reported that the site owner of Furnation wants to revive the old site. Forums, site hosting and all, to achieve this goal he started a Patreon page and as of this posting almost has enough to get it started. Which is sad, given this trend. Although I wish him the best, I see furry forums slowly disappearing. In fact I barely use them myself, sticking more to Facebook and Twitter than anything else. I have a few furry friends are growing to the ever increasing number who use the Telegram app.
To paraphrase an old song, The Smart Phone is killing the Furry Forum.
