The credit card I use has put me unexpectantly on hold. You see it expires on June I know I am suppose to get a new one before that date and I am literally stuck and may have to change plans for this year. The problem is the date, here I am hoping to go to Mephit Fur Meet, plus reserve a room for MFF and I can’t until I get the new card. Hotels won’t let you make a reservation past when your credit card is suppose to expire. I can’t use my debit card… like a lot of you not enough to pay the bill. So meanwhile I am stuck. Same with a trip I hope to do in April. Except that delay comes from the people I plan to stay with. So I am just plan stuck.
Once you go to their official site you will instantly get WTF?!!! Mind you I am not trying to insult them but recent events can be confusing to some. So I will attempt a explanation.
Blue Ridge Furfare is gone it was discontinued and for a while the site was down. But not now https://www.blueridgefurfare.com/ It’s also the same site for the newly renamed Carolina Furfare. They also moved to Hickory, NC which is roughly 58 miles and over an hour drive from Charlotte the nearest big city.
As you can see from above and on their site the Fursona Level Registration is currently open. But you do get to check out the prices. The metal badge option is the one I would go for… if I was attending. Will keep you updated, but if you do plan to go I would regularly check their registration to see if it was open.
When two relative giants—a cat and an otter—attend Yvette’s gymnastics competition, they’ve come to recruit the mouse for their new space program. Yvette can hardly refuse and joins an interspecies team (including cats, dogs, octopi, an otter, a raptor, and a squirrel) building an interstellar spaceship using ancient octopus technology.
The political tides turn, and the crew of The Lucky Boomerang must decide—will they sacrifice everything to become the first of their species to travel beyond the boundaries of their solar system? Or will the fanatically religious dogs of the Uplifted States take their spaceship away before it can get off the ground?
My Review
When I picked up this book was for it’s cover. But then I began to read through it I was totally delighted. It was a story of both interesting characters, as well as a story which kind of hangs you on the edge not quite certain if they would find their ultimate goal or not.
It was only when I was half way through that I discovered it was written for young adults. But this older guy loved it to the very end. Can’t wait to see if there is any future sequel and see where the author takes the plot.
I can honestly highly recommend this book. If you want something that is both light and enjoyable.
