IFC Contest Isn’t Happening

Here, i was getting excited for the suite I won. When I want to say get the rug pulled out on me. But that really isnโ€™t true.

You could really blame the hotels, and I am including the Embassy. It seems the hotel charges you for the room as soon as you make the reservation.

Really, I am not joking. That is what happened to me. But once you do, no changes can be made. You canโ€™t even swap rooms.

The only exception is the Hotel Block. They get charged at the stay.

In other words, even if you won like I did. If the room is locked down. No changes can be made.

But if you got your room through the Hotel Block and won. Then you can swap rooms.

Sure, I am disappointed, but i understand the facts. Now you do.

Like I said, the room is locked. Itโ€™s already paid for. Like my bus fare, NO REFUNDS.

Sure, i am going.

To be honest, it may be some time before I make my 3rd trip to IFC.

Nearby cheaper hotel will be my top priority.

Now I am convinced the selling out was a surprise. Which got me thinking, maybe it was because of the new hotel. Let’s be honest IFC hasn’t got the greatest pick of hotels in the past. But now being at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis. Finally convinced others they should finally go. It is a lovely hotel and those balconies are going to be insane. I saw an example at FM but theirs is tiny. The one at the Hyatt is HUGE.

Also if your going and your worried about food and restaurants. They are going to have a lounge where you can grab a snack and the neighborhood is packed with restaurants of all price ranges

If you click on 3 links on Indy Fur Con’s site you discover the Not Available

The only real facts I know between when it opened and when I got home from work 6 hours later it was SOLD OUT

To me both honest and fair I have no idea how many rooms were apart of the Block. But this honestly surprised me. I have used Hotel Block at the smaller cons I have attended for years. Have not had a single issue. One I even waited 6 days before getting a room as still was able to be apart of that Hotel Block. But to be sold out in under 6 hours. You honestly expect them at Bigger cons, not the small ones.

If I start guessing about attendance that is speculation which I don’t want to get into. Maybe it is the new hotel?!!! Only time will tell.

FOR THE RECORD

I already got my room, the Hyatt Rewards Program gave me a slight discount. But still it’s the most I ever paid for a hotel room at a fur con. I also got my bus tickets all totaled just over $1000
