Film Review: Bohemian Rhapsody

Had a chance to see Bohemian Rhapsody yesterday, the main reason I went to see it is because I have been a fan of Queen most of my life and was curious. What I found was a truly amazing story you could almost call it the raise and fall and rise again of Queen. I know others have gone in to somuch detail about the film and it’s plot to say spoiler alert would be an understatement. The film is magnificent, the story equally so, and that ending had me truthfully in tears. I don’t care if you know anything about Queen or not, do yourself a favor and SEE THIS FILM!!!!

Overall Rating A SOLID 10!!!!

Furry Comic Book Review: Save State #1 by Tim Weeks

Another MFF 2018 pick up, I have been a fan of Save State comics for some time, the main reason I have been a gamer most of my life and it’s hard to find good video game humor. Save State never fails to make me laugh when I was reading this collection on my way home after MFF. The people around me were wondering “What is He Laughing AT?” I was really LOL. PIck this up if you want a good laugh, they also make fun of retro games like this…

Furry Comic Review: Armored Gears #1 by Dan Lee

I picked this one up at MFF 2018 simply because I really like the cover art. Being a supporter of our vets I thought it looked interesting to pick up. What I got was something rather unique but in a good way. The comic is set in the Philippines in the dark days of WW2 when soldiers were being killed by an invading force of Japanese as they made their way across the Pacific. Believe me, the real history of WW2 in the Pacific is far more than just Pearl Harbor and the Atom Bomb. Armored Gears being just a comic only touches on those dark days. But really had a twist I did not see coming, and that is a Mecha. Of course, they did not have them back then, but like I said an interesting twist. I know I will be checking out future issues when they become available to see where this story goes next.

Furry Film Festival

It seems Furs in Utah is doing something quite unique as there was only been one other like it to my knowledge, a furry film fest. According to their site:

Launching in 2019, this one-of-a-kind festival will be open to anybody within the furry community, anywhere in the world! Individuals or teams will be welcome to submit a short film showcasing their skills and creativity and compete against other talented furry filmmakers.

This festival is based in Salt Lake City (the home of Sundance!) and is brought to you (in part) by the United Utah Furry Fandom and its organizers. Official information including a full event/festival website will be launching in January, so stay tuned!

The Chinese Domain Name Scam

Recently I was contacted by this supposed company in China. They sent me an email stated that they represented a company that was planning to go world-wide using the name Furry Times (the name of my almost 10-year-old blog), and they wondered if I had any problem with that. I know it sounds crazy, wanting to see what this was about I emailed them back. They replied with a HUGE deal and once this was done that I would not be able to use the name Furry Times on my own blog or anywhere else. It was after I asked them what it would take to settle this, what I got back actually made me laugh. It was a list of Furry Times attached to a list of Chinese domain names. This is what I replied, “Your welcome to use this, as no one outside of China would even use them”. I also informed them that not only was Furry Times copyrighted in the US but also in South Africa by another party (There is a long story about that), and they would not get a single penny from me and if they wanted to use the name with my permission that they could pay me $1,000. I never heard from them again.

Still one of the strangest scams I have ever seen…also one of the dumbest.
