Words of Wisdom from The Dalai Lama
If we want to see a more peaceful world, we have to learn to collaborate. Young people shouldn’t follow previous patterns of behaviour. New conditions, like our interdependent, globalised world, require new ideas. Dividing people into ‘us’ and ‘them’ is out of date.

Painted Desert Fur Con 2021 Announcement and Updates
Greetings! Based on the current city of Phoenix guidelines, Painted Desert Fur Con will officially be hosted December 31st, 2021 through January 2nd, 2022.
Per federal guidelines, the state of Arizona, and the city of Phoenix, it was deemed that large public gatherings will be safe to host this coming December, given the projected guidelines. Arizona has limited COVID-19 restrictions and preventions, but Corgi Events will have their own safety measures in place. We are contractually obligated based on the above to host our event; however, this is subject to change as guidelines change.

Scotiacon will return on
4th-6th February 2022
Please check back later for updates.
Once again, Hello everyone!
There follows another transmission from the good ship Scotiacon:
Once again, first of all we hope that everyone is in good health and doing as best as they can in these uncertain times.
We have continued to monitor the Covid-19 situation and its associated risks and restrictions closely. Our position has remained clear since the outset: If we feel that it is not safe to run the convention at the planned time then we will not run the convention at the planned time.
Although the UK was on course to end all restrictions in June it started to become apparent that there are still a large and increasing number of cases in those people under 30, an age group that have yet to be fully vaccinated. As this age group also accounts for a majority of Scotiacon’s attendee base this concerns us deeply.
Alongside this we had been preparing to open registration for September 2021 as soon as we knew when restrictions would end. As the earliest we are likely to know when restrictions will end has now moved from late June to late July this just does not leave us with enough time to plan and run Scotiacon.
We also visited the possibility of running in November 2021 as Scotiacon traditionally ran in November. Although it appears we would be safe to run in November it is just not fair on the band of volunteers that make Scotiacon possible to ask them to run the convention twice in the space of four months so we have decided not to run in 2021 and concentrate on making February 2022 our 10th anniversary spectacular allowing us both more planning time and time for the vaccination program to be completed.
Please accept this official invitation to join the Scotiacon hype train whose ultimate destination is the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow 4-6th February 2022!
Follow our social media and keep an eye on this website for registration opening in August 2021!
We continue to hope that Covid-19 is sufficiently under control by the end of summer 2021 and hope to see as many people as possible Boogying on down in February 2022!
Thanks once again to all of our attendees and those that plan to attend for the first time in 2022 for your continued support and understanding as well to our band of devoted Staff, Crew and Volunteers. Without all of these people Scotiacon simply couldn’t exist.
In the meantime, please stay safe.
Ceilfox & Silverfoxwolf.

Cancel Culture is HATE
You know there is very little difference between being a bigot and a member of the Cancel Culture. Namely because they both hate something or someone for their own reasons. And if say you follow someone on social media that has the word “Cancel” in their name. You Too are a member of the Cancel Culture.
I bet if I asked anyone who follows someone who is using the word “Cancel”. Do they agree with the one who created this? My guess is the answer is “I like what they say, but I have no idea who this someone is”.
Think I am joking, just look at any video that attacks someone on YouTube…even though those are against YouTube’s Term of Service these days. They are always going on about frankly someone I have never heard about. I tried watching one of these, and the more they spoke, the closer they got to a libel suit. Ask 20 people and I am sure they will say the same.
This person or thing is EVIL and they should be cancelled out.
Frankly and I include myself in this number. Looking at either the title of the description I would say about 93% of these people or places I never heard of before.
There is also a even bigger issue and I hate to say this is what happened to me. Accusing someone of a crime, now here is the problem. Do they have the facts to back this claim up, frankly when I confronted one. There answer was and I am not joking “Everything I say is the truth, so everyone believes me”. Huh?!!! Nobody is truthful 100% of the time. We lie sometimes to protect ourselves, or to save someone from hurt feelings. Or even not making them feel any worse, than they already do.
Tell the truth 100% of the time…never
Think I am joking, then go ahead tell your parents the 100% truth about yourself.
I can wait.
You couldn’t?
But that’s my entire point. Given the way Cancel Culture is, it really should be called Karen Culture. Because they are 100% the same.
Frankly there are just way too many examples of this on You Tube.
But I think the best of these was something you might have heard about. Like when this mother tried to get her son in this over 18 party at MFF. She even went so far as to call the cops, to force the furries inside to let her underage son to be apart of this party.
Mother and son were asked to leave by both the staff and the cops.
The following year I heard from a staff member that the Karen tried to get these furries banned. But they failed on all counts.
To me this is a prime example of Karen Culture and Cancel Culture being one in the same.
Don’t be a Karen and don’t support them.
The Good Furry Award Has It’s Critics
Doing something nice, for someone who is doing good is a wonderful thing. But no matter what it is, there are always someone who will find issues.
As Papa Bear recently posted about The Good Furry Award.
While I have made it a policy to ignore criticisms I receive from fellow furries so as not to encourage trolling, I feel I need to say something about recent reactions to the 2021 Good Furry Award. The GFA has, for the most part, been warmly received. But there are still furries out there who have called it everything from a waste of time to nothing but a popularity contest. One critic called it a slam to all the other furries who did not receive the award, saying it is “toxic really because it devalues all of the people that have worked to promote the fandom for many years only to say ‘look at this award we have given to some newcomer.'” Another said the “award money should be used to help those who actually need the help to get back on their feet especially after losing their job as a result of covid.”
You can find the full post here
But really folks, when someone is trying to do something that is nice. As the old saying goes “No good deed goes unpunished”. I know some might think that is a heartless way to look at things. But when your dealing with both the “Karens” of this world as well as the Cancel Culture who would absolutely love the Good Furry Award to be no more. We need to stand up against them.
That same argument about the money should go to… Has been said about NASA as long as anyone can remember. Fur Cons, I heard that at MFF 2019, as well as anything else you can name.
But Seriously as bad as things can get namely COVID, to get furries excited about giving an award to someone who is actually doing good.
Can any of you even think of any of the past winners of The Good Furry Award who honestly didn’t deserve that award? My guess is that you can’t.
The Good Furry Award is what it is, because it has to be there.
